Here is some more information from A Medicinal Mushroom, “In Chinese, the name lingzhi represents a combination of spiritual potency and essence of immortality, and is regarded as the “herb of spiritual potency,” symbolizing success, well-being, divine power, and longevity.” The study Ganoderma lucidum Polysaccharides as An Anti-cancer Agent states:The mushroom Ganoderma lucidum (G. lucidum) has been used for centuries in Asian countries to treat various diseases and to promote health and longevity. Clinical studies have shown beneficial effects of G. lucidum as an alternative adjuvant therapy in cancer patients without obvious toxicity. G. lucidum polysaccharides (GLP) is the main bioactive component in the water soluble extracts of this mushroom. Evidence from in vitro and in vivo studies has demonstrated that GLP possesses potential anticancer activity through immunomodulatory, anti-proliferative, pro-apoptotic, anti-metastatic and anti-angiogenic effects. Here, we briefly summarize these anticancer effects of GLP and the underlying mechanisms.

We’ve written about chaga before. First, to share about the medicinal properties of chaga, which also highlighted our dried chaga. And we’ve shared about chaga tincture when it first came to fruition. What can we say, we love chaga!
Chaga is high in antioxidants, helping to boost the immune system. Some of the healthful benefits from this mushroom include:
- Protection against come cancers
- Regulation of immune system
- Protects against candida
- Anti-microbial and anti-viral
- It’s a great source of vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients
Chaga mushroom is found in several areas in the Northern Hemisphere, and has been used in folk medicine for various ailments. Laboratory and animal studies show that compounds in chaga can kill cancer cells selectively and stimulate the immune system. Chaga may also reduce fatigue and inflammation, and increase mental sharpness. However, clinical trials are needed to confirm safety and effectiveness for these uses. In addition, chaga may interact with some drugs and is high in oxalates, which may prevent the absorption of some nutrients and can be toxic in high doses.
Can chaga tincture and reishi tincture benefit you?
Interestingly enough, both of these medicinal mushrooms have adorned nicknames with “immortality” in them. In ancient China and Japan, reishi was considered the mushroom of immortality. Chaga, too, has been considered a mushroom of immortality by Siberian cultures that consumed the mushroom.
Clearly, there are some strong reasons to consume these mushrooms. Our triple extraction process for both the chaga tincture and reishi tincture allows for a wide range of constituents to be extracted so you get the most of these powerful mushrooms.
