How to prepare mushrooms: Begin by cleaning
We primarily recommend cooking all of your mushrooms before eating them, and to gently clean your mushrooms before cooking. We do not recommend eating gourmet mushrooms raw.Some people will simply brush off any types of particles that they can visibly see on the mushroom before starting to cook. A mushroom brush may be used during this process. Other people will use some water while cleaning, although it is important to not use too much as some gilled-mushrooms may absorb the water. There are professional chefs that wash mushrooms in a large pan of cool water that has a handful of flour mixed in. They quickly wash the mushrooms with their hands, then take the mushrooms out of the water, place on a cloth and dry quickly.
How to prepare mushrooms: Sautéing
Sautéing mushrooms is one of the desired processes for many. You can use butter, ghee, or some other cooking oil. Begin by heating the cooking fat and then place the mushrooms into. You can sauté the mushrooms uncovered on medium heat. The mushrooms are ready to eat once they become tender. You can add salt and pepper to taste before serving. Oyster mushrooms and lion’s mane mushrooms are both delicious sautéed!
How to prepare mushrooms: Baking
Have you ever had a baked shiitake mushroom? They have a crispy texture and an umami flavor that some people use as a vegetarian or vegan substitute for bacon. To make these tasty morsels, begin by taking the stems off the shiitakes. Coat the mushrooms with olive oil and season them with paprika, salt, and pepper. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Once your oven is properly heated, place the shiitakes on a baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20-30 minutes, until the shiitakes are crispy and before they burn. Let them cool down and then enjoy.
How to prepare mushrooms: Broiling
Broiling crimini mushrooms is a favorite cooking method for some. To do this, start by cleaning and de-stemming the mushrooms. Place the caps in a large bowl with salt, pepper, cooking oil, and some sherry. Arrange the coated criminis on a baking tray in a single layer. Broil the mushrooms for about two and half minutes, then flip the mushrooms over and broil for an additional minute and a half. Your broiled criminis will then be ready to serve.

Another popular method for preparing mushrooms involves creating tasty stuffing and putting it in the overturned caps. You can use a variety of ingredients in stuffing for mushrooms, and you can do it by using bread crumbs or not. Grated or shredded cheese and cream cheese is a popular option as well, for those who enjoy dairy. You could also use cashew cheese for a vegetarian or vegan option. Minced garlic, black pepper, onion powder, and cayenne powder are frequently used as well. To make stuffed mushrooms without bread crumbs, begin by preparing a baking pan and setting the oven to 350 degrees F. Heat some cooking oil and add the garlic. Chop the mushroom stems and add them to the garlic. Cook until the chopped stems are tender and the garlic is browned. Be sure to avoid burning the garlic. Once completed, set aside to cool. Once the garlic and chopped mushroom stems are cool, add the cream cheese, shredded cheese, and all the spices you are using. Stir well. The resulting mixture will be thick. Spoon this stuffing into the overturned mushroom caps and bake in the over for 20 minutes, or until the stuffed mushrooms are completing hot all the way through.
